The Annual Parish (Vestry) Meeting and Annual Parochial Church Meeting will be held on Sunday 28th April, 11.15 am at St Michael’s following our Family Worship.
Please do stay on after our Worship and take part. These are really important meetings. At them, elections take place and there is a discussion of the Church Accounts and reports on the business and life of our church.
The Church Electoral Roll and formal Notification of the Meetings will be published this weekend. The Report Booklet, including Accounts, is available now from this website (Parish Annual Report 2018) as well as from our churches. Please do take the time to read the reports prior to the Meetings.
Are you are interested in serving our churches as either a Churchwarden, PCC member or as one of our representatives on the Deanery Synod? Want to know more about what we do and what’s involved? Just ask one of our Churchwardens, PCC members or Deanery Synod Representatives and we will be delighted to answer any questions you have. Nomination Forms are available from our churches Please complete and return the relevant Nomination Form before the meetings begin.
If you are interested in serving as a Sidesperson, please contact one of our Churchwardens for more information and to register interest.
These will be chosen at the Annual Parish (Vestry) Meeting – two for each church.
A Churchwarden must live in the Parish or be on the Church Electoral Roll. He/she must be an actual communicant and 21+. It is an annual appointment and they are ‘admitted’ as Bishop’s Officers by the Archdeacon at his Visitation.
The Churchwardens currently are:
Matt Brown and Keith Tunstall – St Michael’s
Gillian Cooke – St James’
Parochial Church Council
One third retires each year. Members are elected for a 3 year period and can serve no more than 2 terms (6 years) consecutively. A candidate must be on the Church Electoral Roll (and have been on it for the preceding 6 months), an actual communicant and 16+.
This year four members will be completing terms of office: Dom Conidi, Lesley Mills, Jude Robinson and Andrew Scanlon.
Representatives of the Deanery Synod are elected every 3 years and hold office for a term of 3 years beginning on 1st June following their election at the APCM. There is one position available on the Deanery Synod for a period of 1 year.
Our current members are: Dave Brown and Jamie Tennant
All Sidespersons are appointed. He/she must be on the Church Electoral Roll.
For all those who took part in our Autumn Quiz (and for those who didn’t take the plunge), here are the answers to our quiz.
